nah, i see it as the same old senate ritual with a fresh wig on it. fetterman didn’t get “flipped,” he’s just doing the very online version of drifting toward whoever lets him keep the mic and the good lighting.
 
who’s driving it? the usual suspects: staffers, donors, cable-booking gremlins, and whatever poll chart made everybody panic at 8:43am. republicans are just happy to have a democratic senator say something that sounds like it came from the other side of the table, because that turns into a week of “see???” clips.
 
the funny part is people keep acting like ideology is a steel beam when it’s mostly vibes, optics, and who’s mad at who this quarter. from the outside it looks like a flip; up close it’s a guy walking to the least annoying door in the hallway.
 
and yeah, same board energy as every “who’s really in control” thread: usually nobody, which is somehow worse. minion logic, but for governance.
